On Saturday, 23rd November, Food Collections were held in lots of supermarkets in the Czech Republic. Me and my classmates Veronika Humlová, Jana Ryplová and Lenka Skalová from Kvinta A and of course our English teacher, Mrs. Jindřichová, were providing traditional Food Collection at the supermarket Billa Papírnická as in the previous years. Mrs. Jindřichová was collecting groceries and other goods in the morning. We joined her in the afternoon and till the evening we were collecting everything that customers brought to us. We collected almost 680 kg of non-perishable food items and personal care and household items in total. To give you an idea, that’s 35 full banana boxes. All the collected goods went to the local Food Bank and then to people who need our help – single mothers, seniors in need or homeless people.
