At the beginning of June, the third year students and septimas headed out towards the Šumava mountains for the annual Sports week which took place from 3rd to 7th of June at the campground near Nová pec called ”Přátelé dětí”.
At the start of the week all classes underwent a short training to prepare for a kayaking trip from Rožmberk nad Vltavou to Český Krumlov which includes two beginner-friendly weirs. On Monday evening a short team game called “Hvězdice” was played. Teams consisting of players from all classes competed in ten events, collecting clues from each of them. The first team to collect all the clues won.
On Tuesday septimas set off towards the Vltava river for a kayaking trip whilst the third year students could choose either biking along the Schwanzerberg canal or walking the Medvědí stezka trail. On the next day the activities were swapped. During the night a voluntary night race with maps was also held, hosting a total of 10 teams with six to seven members each. It, of course, included some scares and a little bit of unintentional wandering.
On Thursday all students were mixed together and could, based on their preference, once again pick either biking around Lipno, or hiking to Plešné lake. Unfortunately, the biking trip was cut short by an unexpected storm, however, it was enjoyable nonetheless. After dinner all boys were tasked with preparing a campfire, which they, after struggling for a while, successfully built. They kept it going for the rest of the day, while songs were sung and played on guitars by professors Puda and Stoček, accompanied by the violin of Kateřina Vochová and drumming.
Friday morning kept everyone busy with packing and after lunch it was time to head home. Even though the journey was not without a hiccup as the hind trailer wheel got punctured, everyone safely returned home, perhaps tired and with a small delay, but with lots of wonderful memories.
