On 12th of June the Czech dance team StormBallet started the whole trip to the world dance competition Danza Mundial. This year the competition took place in Venlo, which is a small town in the Netherlands.
The journey was really long and we arrived at our final destination late in the evening. The whole team was accommodated in a family camp in modern cottages.
On the first day we all woke up very early, because the quartet choreography opened the whole competition. They danced the choreography successfully and they finished 4th, which was very good. At noon there was a big march of all the teams at the competition. It was an indescribable experience. In the afternoon we walked around the beautiful town of Venlo.
The next day we also woke up early, because we went on a trip to Dutch mills. The weather wasn’t very good, but we still enjoyed it. Then we went to Rotterdam. First we walked through the historical part of the city. Later we went to a food fair and saw the more modern part of the city. In the evening, both of our teams had training sessions in the camp just to stretch our bodies.
On Saturday we could sleep longer, because we didn’t go on any trips. In the morning we all had individual trainings. In the afternoon we had split trainings. First the younger team played some games while the older team had a training. Then it switched. In the evening, everyone was just chatting, enjoying the time together and preparing for the competition day.
On the last competition day, most of our choreographies competed. In the morning we did our hair (styles) and make-ups. In the afternoon, two big formation choreographies danced. StormBallet’s Juniors and Adults competed in the same category, so we danced only two choreographies apart. Then we waited for the results. The Adults' choreography won, so they became champions, and the Junior’s choreography was second. It was a great success. In the evening, two of our soloists danced. One of them finished 4th in the Junior category and the other girl, who competed in the Adults category, won.
The whole trip and competition was an incredible experience. We all really enjoyed it and we are so grateful that we could go there.
